Welcome
You've reached the sample pages site for the Python training CD.
Here, you'll find the 'readme' file, table of contents, preface,
and unit 1 pages--roughly the first half hour of a 3-day class.
Starting 11/99, each student of my
Python class will receive a copy of this CD,
along with other materials.
The CD includes these cross-linked components:
| The class workbook in HTML form
|
| Source code files for class examples and lab exercises
|
| Lab solutions, with source code
|
| Python interpreter distributions: source-code and Windows versions
|
| Python standard documentation, in HTML form
|
Before you browse the CD sample, a few notes:
- Version: These pages were uploaded
from version 1.2 of the CD material in February, 2000,
and do not reflect more recent updates. In fact, as of
April, 2001, the CD is currently at release level 1.5,
so please note that this sample is substantially out of
date. See the more recent class outline in the main
training page.
- Speed: The server you will
use to browse is relatively slow, especially compared to
reading off a CD or hard drive.
- Browser: And finally, the pages
in the sample here and in the workbook on the CD are currently
best viewed with Internet Explorer 4.0 or later; this may change
over time, but older Netscape browsers render these pages oddly.
If you are an individual considering purchasing the CD, please
make sure the sample pages look reasonable in your browser.
